bonjour!

so after our funfun copenhagan flight, we are now in Paris, the city of lights!

and our funfun flight, meant being delayed for 3 hours...while sitting on the plane, due to thunderstorms and heavy air traffic around paris.
but paris has been fun. we didn't do anything yesterday since we got in around 10, and then there was getting our baggage, and the train station and finding our hostel. BUT! today was pretty much a quintessential touristy paris day! I went to notre dame cathedral today (but not up to the towers), and it was really cool. the architecture was amazing, but people were talking and using the flash, and it just seemed to much of something for a church, you know? then mandi and i set out for the louve. oh the louve. we went through it (not even all of it) fairly quickly. we saw a ton of sculptures, the mona lisa, venus, the wedding feast at cana, and a lot of other stuff...too much! if i knew french or had the audio guide, it would have taken for ever. Then after the louve we set out for the eiffel (I fell...hmmm...) tower. We even had a picnic...mostly because we are cheap and can't afford to eat out now, as the school isn't paying for it anymore. :) but we waited in line for the tower, and the top was closed for some reason. And it was kind of cloudy, but the view was still amazing! so much fun! Now we are just around, getting food for tomorrow and catching up on e-mails. Tomorrow we are going to look into a hot air ballon ride (for only 12 euros!), and some other things, like the arch de triumphe.
