How June flew by...

What a busy month of June it has been! The weather has been sunnier, but still with bouts of rain and clouds, so it almost seems like it’s still April and springtime.

Kids go to school year round here, so they don’t get done with school until the middle of July, and have six weeks off. (It’s strange, the stores are already advertising for back to school things, and they are still IN school.) The kids in year one have been learning about the seaside, so Rachel and I went with the classes to Scarborough, about 3 hours away to visit the seaside. It was a lovely day out, although my main concern for the day was to NOT lose a kid.

Hasan and Raaesah on a donkey ride!
Irteza and his icecream. He's one of my favourite kids, even though he's in a different class, but he's just so sweet!

Then Rachel and I finally made it up to the Lake District, and it was fantastic. We were able to go with a couple from church who were staying in a cottage for a week. We went up for the weekend and did a lot of walking and hiking with them, and their friend Sheila who came up from Manchester. Unfortunately, we couldn’t find Lambeth/Pemberley. (Which is where Mr. Darcy from Pride and Prejudice lives!)
Me and Rachel with Malcom and Angie before our 6 mile trek!

And then, our ceiling fell off. There is some leakage happening from our shower, and ceiling had been leaking. Then one morning, I came down, and the sheetrock had just come apart. It was pretty funny, I thought… It's in the works to get replaced though...

And finally, Sweden came and visited! It was so nice to have more visitors come over and hang out with us!

Fish and chips in Manchester, right outside of the Manchester United stadium.

Rachel, Bethany and I visited the Hillsong church in London, which was pretty awesome. They meet in a West End theater (just like at home! ...except on a slightly larger scale....), and have 4 services on Sunday. It was nice to be a part of a large church again and have more modern music.

And as you can tell, we are all very excited to hang out with each other in London!
